Built in 1874, and serving as a manufacturing site for the American Can Company, the facility is now experiencing a renaissance as a mixed-use redevelopment offering residential units, office space along with amenities. Located in historic Charles Village, Marks, Thomas Architects designed the conversion of this 75,000 square foot brick industrial structure, opened in 2009. Abandoned for 20 years, it now houses 40 loft-style residences and 30,000 square feet of office space in this three and four story structure. The project also has state and federal historic preservation tax credits as well as pursuing LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC v2.2) Gold Certification.
